General Summary
The Content Marketing Manager is the creative storyteller, digital strategist, and on-the-ground content creator responsible for bringing the Greater Green Bay experience, from local favorites to major events, alive across all digital platforms aligned with the Discover Green Bay brand and marketing plan.
This role leads the development and execution of Discover Green Bay’s owned content strategy, creating compelling, high-performing content built to grow audience engagement and ultimately influence increased travel to the region. Serving as the voice and personality of the brand across social media and digital channels, the Content Marketing Manager captures moments in real time, telling authentic stories and turning local experiences into must-visit inspiration.
This role works closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications while maintaining a high level of autonomy, including ownership of assigned marketing and content-related expenses/budget and the ability to directly influence campaign direction, content investment, and creative execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and execute the social media plan, creating high-impact content, analyzing audience engagement, and leveraging current trends and tools to elevate the region’s competitive standing.
- Assist in developing and implementing an annual digital marketing plan and content calendar designed to increase digital engagement, website traffic and visitation.
- Actively engage with audiences across digital platforms by responding to messages, comments, and conversations as the destination expert to build connection and position Discover Green Bay as the go-to destination resource.
- Maintain and monitor Discover Green Bay’s brand voice across social platforms, ensuring a consistent, engaging, and recognizable presence.
- Conduct competitive social media and content research, analyze performance, and identify emerging platforms and trends that create new opportunities for growth to enhance online presence.
- Produce content for all digital marketing channels, including but not limited to social media, destination blog and video/podcasting in accordance to support the overall marketing strategy.
- Responsible for blog content calendar, managing freelancers on blog creative efforts, delivering SEO informed content, and launching blogs on greenbay.com
- Partner with contracted video production vendors to host, produce, edit, and distribute long-form video series across channels to expand audiences.
- Develop and execute long and short form video content strategy across platforms including YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Instagram/Facebook Reels, and TikTok.
- Capture dynamic photo and video content at events, attractions, and partner locations, bringing the destination to life in real time.
- Serve as a key contact for local media by responding to local media inquiries as well as writing and distributing press releases.
- Collaborate with PR partners to proactively pitch stories and secure earned media coverage with travel media and content creators.
- Design and organize earned media tours that showcase the destination’s key attractions, accommodations, and experiences to travel agents, tour operators, and media representatives.
- Develop detailed itineraries that highlight the unique stories in the destination, designed to expand audience reach and inspire visits.
- Maintain and evolve the media toolkit on GreenBay.com, showcasing coverage and making it easy for media to tell the Green Bay story.
- Build strong relationships with local partners and businesses to co-create content that showcases the region’s most compelling experiences.
- Maintain knowledge of current innovations in the field by attending industry educational opportunities as well as maintaining knowledge of the destination, top visitor markets, and our regional competitors.

- Performs other related Discover Green Bay activities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in social media, marketing, communications or business with an emphasis in marketing required.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a marketing/digital marketing, social media management, and content production role required.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, video and photo editing software, data analytics and organic and paid social media management tools and software.
- Strong on camera presence and confident public speaker.
- Experience working with marketing automation systems, content management systems, and customer relationship management systems.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing functions, search engine optimization best practices and email marketing processes.
- Knowledge of the latest web technologies and digital trends.
- Effective project and time management skills.
- Basic Knowledge of graphic design fundamentals photography and video composition.
- Meida training/experience preferred but not required.
- Effective understanding/use of latest technologies and online platforms to advance brand.
- Desire to continually learn about and implement new ideas and industry best practice.

- Required to follow all safety standards including but not limited to all federal, state, and organizational rules and regulations.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
- Software as a service systems (SaaS) to assist with project management, data intelligence, social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
- Photography equipment and video gear including digital cameras, lenses, filters, microphones, camcorder, etc.
- Audio/Visual equipment such as projectors and other presentation/speaker related equipment.
- Trade show booths, displays and equipment associated with trade shows.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent mobility and/or sitting or standing required for extended periods of time. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and other standard office equipment. Requires hearing within normal range and eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read communications, reports and computer terminals. Must have a valid driver’s license in order to perform outside sales calls. Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. May require some irregular work hours.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to use logical or scientific thinking to solve problems and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position in order to deal with a variety of emotions and frustrations in making business decisions and handling difficult situations. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Occasional high stress work may be required in the performance of this job. Must be able to advise others on alternatives or options and speak before groups.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperate and the like.
- Subject to outside sales calls so is exposed on a frequent basis to temperature extremes.

Reports to the Vice President of Digital Marketing & Communications.
