A Year-Round Sports Town
Green Bay is home to the Green Bay Packers and a variety of other sports teams that thrill fans throughout the year.
Green Bay loves its football, so from March to August you can get your fix by checking out arena football with the Green Bay Blizzard. The Blizzard play in the premier Indoor Football League and are a great option for an affordable family night out at the Resch Center. Also calling the Resch Center home is the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's NCAA Division I men's basketball team, the Green Bay Phoenix. Take in games from November through February.
Collegiate hockey fans can also enjoy the fast pace of the four-time National Champion St. Norbert College Green Knights men's hockey games at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center, November through February. Also check out the United States Hockey League Green Bay Gamblers, who have captured two Junior A National Championships, five Anderson Cups, four Clark Cups and seven USHL Eastern Division titles. Catch a game at the Resch Center from late September through April.
Green Bay has a new Northwoods League baseball team name and park to play in for the 2019 season! Green Bay Booyah! will kick off their inaugural season at the brand-new Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon in May 2019. The new park will host baseball, soccer and other community events that can seat 4,000 for sporting events and 8,000 for concerts and large event gatherings. Green Bay Booyah! will host their first home game June 1 against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
The team will host many special family nights and events throughout the season. Tickets for Green Bay Booyah! baseball games can be purchased individually over the phone, online or in person. This is a great activity for the entire family.
In addition to baseball, Capital Credit Union Park will also be home to a new USL League Two soccer team that will kick off their first season in 2019.
In May, over 14,000 runners get cheers from spectators lining the streets during the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. Runners from all over the globe come to compete in this world-class event, tabbed as Runner's World's 10 Most Fun Events. In June, Green Bay also hosts the Bellin Run, with 16,000 runners making it one of the largest 10K races in the country.
Golf the great outdoors at Highland Ridge Golf Course. With the gently rolling terrain and the signature waterfall hole, the course boasts four sets of tees to challenge all levels of golfers.
The legendary open waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan produce some of the best walleye fishing in the state. South Bay Marina offers "big water" boaters a variety of amenities and services including transient slips and maintenance services. Meanwhile, visiting fisherman will appreciate the area's numerous and well-maintained launch ramps, like Fox Point Boat Launch in De Pere and Bay Shore Park just northeast of Green Bay.
