BelGioioso Cheese Inc.
This cheese story began over a century ago in Italy. Then in 1979 Errico Auricchio, great-grandson of original founder, moved to the United States. Auricchio planned to bring the best Italian cheeses he enjoyed growing up to his new home in America. In search of the highest quality milk to begin the cheese making process in this new land, he naturally gravitated towards Wisconsin, America’s Dairyland. This was where he found the most dedicated farmers, abundant green pastures, and large cornfields leading to the production of superior milk.
The secret to Belgioioso Cheese is still in the milk. They source the dairy within thirty miles of their cheese plant to ensure freshness from antibiotic and hormone free cows fed only a natural diet of corn and alfafa. Belgioioso Cheese takes no short-cuts in order to speed up production. Proper timing and care is given to each batch of cheese to guarantee a quality, great tasting product.
Belgioioso Cheese has grown to nine manufacturing facilities. Its headquarters is still proudly housed in the southeast Green Bay location. The success is deeply rooted in the traditions taught to Auricchio by his great-grandfather. Auricchio is passing those same family values down to new generations to ensure Belgioioso Cheese will keep the Italian recipes that people love.
