After a good ol’ Wisconsin winter, we’re always excited to say goodbye to the chill in the air and hello to warmer spring days. And while the sunny days get most of the glory, there’s a certain charm to those rainy afternoons that invite us to slow down and explore indoor adventures around the city.

After all, just because the weather’s a bit damp doesn’t mean your spirits have to be! Whether you're seeking family-friendly escapades, adult-oriented adventures, or activities suitable for all ages, we've got you covered with a variety of options to brighten up even the dreariest of days in Green Bay.

Odyssey Climbing Gym

Add a little thrill to your rainy day agenda at Odyssey Climbing Gym in Ashwaubenon! At Green Bay’s first and only climbing gym, there is no experience necessary and something to enjoy for everyone — from the seasoned climber to the total newbie.

You’ll have 47 feet of roped climbing walls to conquer, or if you prefer to keep your feet closer to the ground, 120 linear feet of bouldering walls perfect for testing your mettle. Not sure where to start? No problem! All visitors get a quick introductory orientation and learn how to use climbing equipment.

Day passes are $25 and include all of the equipment you’ll need. Odyssey also has several membership options if you end up falling in love with the vertical life. (Oh, and P.S. they also have Coffee Wizardz cold brew on tap so you can fuel up between climbs.)

Museums Galore

What better way to spend a rainy day than learning and exploring? There are plenty of fun, educational experiences for everyone to enjoy at one of Green Bay’s top-notch museums.

First up, we've got the Neville Public Museum, where you can dive deep into the area's history and see fascinating interactive exhibits like Spectacular Science and the Generations Gallery. If you've got kiddos in tow, check out the Green Bay Children's Museum located on the city’s east side near Bay Beach. And hey, all aboard the excitement train at the National Railroad Museum, where you can geek out over trains and play at the Children’s Discovery Depot. Of course, we can't forget about the ultimate shrine to all things Packers – the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Whether you bleed green and gold or you're just a casual fan, it's a must-see for anyone who visits the area.

Escape Rooms

Test your wits and teamwork skills at one of Green Bay’s exciting escape rooms! These immersive experiences take a team of 4-8 players who will find themselves locked in a room and tasked with unraveling a series of clues, puzzles, and riddles to make their grand escape.

In Green Bay, you've got a few awesome options to choose from. Encrypted Escape, Escape Room Wisconsin, and Green Bay Escape & Axe each offer their own unique twist on the escape room experience. Whether you're navigating a mysterious laboratory, exploring a haunted house, or unraveling a thrilling mystery, there's an escape room to suit every taste and skill level.

All of these Escape Room experiences recommend a minimum of age 10, with an accompanying guardian, but we recommend reading through all the available rooms to make sure your child will feel comfortable with the experience. (And for those looking to up the ante, why not add a bit of axe-throwing excitement to the mix at Green Bay Escape & Axe?)

Green Bay Botanical Gardens

Okay, hear us out. We know it’s a rainy day tour of the city, but isn’t there something just a little bit charming about strolling through a beautiful spring garden on a drizzly afternoon? We think so!

If you’re looking for a little respite and quiet contemplation, we can’t think of a better place to do it than under a big umbrella amidst the beauty of the spring blooms. Peak bloom happens throughout May, when you can enjoy plenty of daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, wildflowers, and soooo much more.
