Spring is in the air (with that hint of summer on the horizon), and it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore the beauty of the area with a leisurely stroll—emphasis on the leisurely. Of course, there are tons of great places in Green Bay and the surrounding areas to get a brisk hike, bike, or jog in, but this blog is all about really savouring the stroll. With packed schedules keeping us all busy busy busy, sometimes it’s important to slow it down and spend time soaking up the little things that give us those little endorphin boosts and keep us curious about our world.

Green Bay | West Side
Green Bay Botanical Garden

The ultimate stroll for anyone who wants to be completely immersed in the sights and smells of the spring and early summer blooms. The Green Bay Botanical Garden boasts 47 acres filled with more than 120,000 plants from Wisconsin and around the world.
Special feature: Enjoy a limited-time showing of the Washed Ashore sculpture series, featuring nine amazing sculptures made from plastic debris collected from the Pacific Ocean, displayed throughout the garden. The sculptures will be on display through August 31st.
Ken Euers Nature Area
1701 Military Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54303
One of the few public places to experience the beauty of the bay from shore right here in Green Bay, the Ken Euers Nature Area is a beautiful and newly renovated (with ongoing improvements underway) natural wetland with easy walking trails and gorgeous views. The area is bordered by the Fox River and Duck Creek, so consider strolling in your rainboots to take on the squelchier areas.
Special feature: This is one for the birders! Catch sightings of ring-necked ducks, hummingbirds, kingfishers, stilt sandpipers, and more!
Pamperin Park

Pamperin Park is the largest developed park in the Brown County Park System, so there’s no shortage of leisurely strolls to be found there. Rolling hills, quiet wooded areas, and the gently flowing Duck Creek make this a picturesque place for a stroll.
Special feature: Feel like pairing some friendly competition with your springtime stroll? Grab some friends and enjoy the 18-hole disc golf course!
He-Nis-Ra
1900 S Point Road, Green Bay, WI 54313
Featuring a lovely 1.4-mile loop trail that takes just about 30 minutes to walk, He-Nis-Ra is the perfect spot for a short stroll, especially with kiddos. The part has great forest vibes that’ll make you forget you’re in the city!
Special feature: Enjoy the many native wildflowers that bloom as the trail opens up to a natural meadow in the middle of the hike.
Green Bay | East Side
City Deck
301 N Washington St, Green Bay, WI 54301
Who says a beautiful stroll has to take you deep into the woods? Enjoy urban views with a walk on the City Deck, located right along the Fox River in downtown Green Bay. Here, you get to see the Fox River, watch the pelicans fly by, and maybe even stop and enjoy a beer on the outdoor patios at one of the restaurants or bars along the deck.
Special feature: Fridays on the Fox runs every Friday from June 13th to July 25th. Enjoy live music, food and drinks, and beautiful sunset views of the Fox River. Check out this summer’s lineup here.
Green Isle Park

Enjoy a peaceful stroll on the East River at Green Isle Park. If you’re patient, there’s a lot of wildlife to see along the shore, including snapping turtles, deer, and many different birds.
Special feature: Get the perfect Instagram-worthy shot on the curved wooden bridge spanning a portion of the river or at the overlook along the trail.
Fonferek Glen

A local favorite, this unique county park is a geological gem nestled amidst towering cliffs, stone archways, native prairies, and so much more.
Special feature: Get a glimpse of the 30-foot waterfall from the scenic overlook.
Heritage Hill

Take a stroll through living history at Heritage Hill State Historical Park. Located on a hilltop near the Fox River and surrounded by historical buildings, this is the perfect stroll for anyone who wants to be immersed in our area's rich history. An admission fee is required to enter the park.
Special feature: If you want an even more immersive experience, visit during one of the Lay Baye by Lantern events and get a guided nighttime tour with special demonstrations.
Wequiock Falls

Haven’t gotten your waterfall fill yet? Head over to Wequiock Falls County Park. It is one of the smaller parks in the area, but that makes it perfect for a leisurely stroll. You’ll enjoy walking through the ravine to get some amazing views of the spring waterfall.
Special feature: It’s the waterfall, of course! This is the main event and worth seeing at its full force before it starts to dry up over the summer months.
De Pere
The Preserve
1780 Lawrence Dr, De Pere, WI 54115
Located on De Pere’s West Side, The Preserve opens into a large wooded park with a winding trail through the trees along Ashwaubenon Creek.
Special feature: If you want to level up your leisurely stroll to something a little quicker, The Preseve trail is perfect for roller bladers and roller skaters!
Osprey Point
3346 Monroe Rd, De Pere, WI 54115
Named for the ospreys that make their nesting grounds here, Osprey Point is an 80-acre conservancy rife with wildlife and natural beauty. You’ll especially enjoy this stroll if you have a special love for ospreys, herons, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, and pheasants.
Special feature: Osprey Point features two special ponds that can be used for fishing by children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Voyageur Park
100 William St, De Pere, WI 54115
A favorite park for many locals, Voyageur Park is a large urban park situated along the Fox River, featuring a well-maintained 0.7-mile paved trail that circles the park and offers stunning views of the river, particularly at sunset.
Special feature: Bring your fishing rod and try your hand at catching walleye, freshwater drum, and channel catfish!
Ashwuabenon
Oneida Walk of Legends
Lombardi Ave &, S Oneida St, Green Bay, WI 54304
This one-mile walk east of Lambeau is the perfect stroll for anyone who loves a little football history. The stroll features 24 statues that celebrate the legends and history of the Packers and educate visitors on the history of the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin, who were among the first marquee players in Green Bay football history.
Special feature: Into geocaching? The Walk of Legends is a popular geocaching spot, so you may just find some treasures on your stroll.
Sherwood Forest

Sherwood Forest is a scenic 1.1-mile loop right in the heart of the city. This is a great walk for a hot day with lots of tree cover and benches along the trails.
Special feature: The park features the Evergreen Arboretum, which contains over 30 different species of conifer plantings, as well as a wildlife pond.
Hidden Valley Park

Another urban park great for exploring without leaving the city, Hidden Valley Park features limestone trails through wooded areas and a nice, quiet atmosphere.
Special feature: This is a great park for the tree lovers out there! This park features an arboretum with over 65 varieties of cultivars of deciduous trees.
Howard
Meadowbrook Park
670 Hillcrest Heights, Howard, WI 54313
This small, laid-back park in Howard features scenic pathways through wooded areas and open meadows. It has both paved and unpaved trails, so feel free to bring strollers or wheelchairs.
Special feature: Goats! Yes, goats! The Village of Howard occasionally brings in goats to help manage invasive vegetation. It’s part of a sustainability initiative clearing the way for future pollinator gardens.
Suamico
Sensiba Wildlife Area

This 637-acre coastal wildlife habitat features marshes along the shore of the bay, as well as inland wooded areas with hardwoods, oak, aspen, and cottonwood trees.
Special feature: Wild edibles! Feel free to gather berries, mushrooms, and other wild edibles that can be found along the trails.
