For families

Fall in Green Bay is basically built for making family memories with pumpkins, costumes, hayrides, and more! If you’re looking for seasonal fun the whole crew can enjoy, you won’t have to look far.
Kick things off at Fall Fest on Broadway on Saturday, October 4th, where kids can trunk-or-treat, bounce around in inflatables, and try their hand at pumpkin painting, while parents sneak off to browse the vendor market or admire the classic car show. Add hayrides, balloon art, live music, and plenty of food truck fare, and you’ve got yourself a day packed with “something for everyone” energy. Learn more about Fall Fest here.
If your family is all about trains (and pumpkins), hop aboard the Great Pumpkin Train on October 11th or October 18th at the National Railroad Museum. Every ticket includes a ride out to the pumpkin patch, where you can pick the perfect one to take home, plus indoor entertainment, crafts, and a not-so-spooky haunted house. And since the event runs rain or shine, it’s a surefire way to lock in some fall fun no matter the weather. Get tickets and learn more here.
For a little hands-on creativity, the Zoo Boo pumpkin carving night at the NEW Zoo on October 8th is a great pick. Bring your carving tools and pumpkins and help fill the zoo with hundreds of glowing jack-o’-lanterns. Later in October, visit the zoo again for Zoo Boo—a full-on Halloween extravaganza, with trick-or-treat stations, skeleton scavenger hunts, bounce houses, and more costumed fun than you can shake a glow stick at. Learn more here.
Over at Titletown’s Pumpkin Palooza on October 11th, the party continues with live music, carnival games, face painting, stilt walkers, and of course, pumpkin carving galore. Add in the Touch-a-Truck experience and giant lawn games, and your kids might never want to leave!
Of course, sometimes the best family days are the simplest ones. Pack a picnic and head to one of Green Bay’s many parks—Pamperin Park (with its giant playground) and Voyageur Park in De Pere are two local favorites. And to end the day on a sweet note? Swing by Zesty’s for a scoop of custard and call it the perfect fall outing.
For the outdoorsy and adventurous folks

If you’re the kind of traveler who thinks “relaxing” means breaking a sweat (or maybe just screaming your head off in a haunted house), Green Bay has plenty of fall adventures to keep your adrenaline levels high.
Start with the classics: hiking under the fiery colors of fall. The Cofrin Arboretum, Reforestation Camp, and Baird Creek Greenway are all local favorites for leaf-peeping on foot. Whether you want a peaceful stroll or a longer trek, these trails give you a front-row seat to autumn’s best show.
Prefer your fall colors with a little splash? Paddle out onto the Fox River for some kayaking or canoeing. No need to own your own gear—local outfitters like Fox River Kayaking Company, Zeller’s, or Suamico Paddle have you covered. It’s one of the most unique ways to see Green Bay’s fall scenery.
If speed is more your style, head to Green Bay’s new Midwest Super Speedway for some heart-pounding go-kart racing. The track is minutes from Lambeau Field and offers the perfect mix of friendly competition and full-throttle excitement.
Looking for vertical thrills? Odyssey Climbing + Fitness is the place to test your grip strength on towering walls or work your way across their 120-foot bouldering wall. The welcoming staff and community vibe make it easy for first-timers to dive right in, and with a day pass, you can climb to your heart’s content.
For an adventure in the treetops, the N.E.W. Zoo Adventure Park offers zip lining, ropes courses, and a 32-foot free-fall finale that will have your stomach doing flips. It’s part obstacle course, part daredevil playground, and 100% fun.
And since fall isn’t complete without a little spooky adrenaline, make time for Green Bay’s legendary haunted houses. Green Bay Fear, Terror on the Fox, Revenge Haunt, and The Realm of Darkness all deliver plenty of scares.
Food for the foodies & beer connoisseurs

If your perfect getaway includes sampling, sipping, and savoring, you’re in the right place.
Start with the big one: Craftoberfest at the Resch (October 4). This is the ultimate tasting event, where you can sample your way through hundreds of craft beverages—beer, wine, spirits, and even some N/A options. Your ticket includes a souvenir glass and unlimited pours, plus live music, food trucks, games, contests, and quirky fun like the “Toss It in the Tuba” challenge.
Then head to Flocktoberfest at Legion Park (October 11) for a full day of live music, bratwurst, booyah, and beer under the big tents. With four bands playing across twelve hours, this Oktoberfest-style bash is equal parts party and community fundraiser. Rain or shine, the beer will be flowing.
After a day of sampling, balance things out with something sweet. From warm apple cider donuts to inventive fall flavors that go way beyond pumpkin spice, Green Bay’s local bakeries and cafés have plenty of treats worth hunting down. (Check out one of our latest blogs featuring local fall treats here.)
Finally, for a sit-down option that pairs autumn vibes with comfort food, grab a table at Hagemeister Park. Their riverside patio, complete with an open-air fire pit to gather around, is perfect for taking in fall colors along the Fox River, and once the chill sets in, you can cozy up inside one of their private dining igloos.
For artsy folks

If your idea of a perfect fall getaway involves paintbrushes, pottery wheels, and maybe a little gallery-hopping, Green Bay has plenty to inspire your inner artist.
Kick this off with some fall watercolor at the Art Garage on October 4th for a beginner-friendly watercolor pumpkin workshop. You’ll sketch and paint perfectly imperfect pumpkins in all shapes and shades, then turn them into cards, tags, or frame-worthy art. With coffee, snacks, and all the supplies you need, this class makes for a laid-back, creative afternoon. Sign up and learn more here.
Keep the art train rolling! Board & Brush Make & Take Workshop (also October 4th) offers Halloween-themed wooden décor projects. No need to register ahead—just walk in, choose your colors, and create a piece that’s ready to hang before you leave. Learn about Board & Brush here.
Prefer to work with a different medium? Check out the Pumpkin Pop-Up Workshop from Clay Studio 1242 on October 29th, hosted at the cozy Cocoon Brewing. With clay, tools, and expert guidance provided, you’ll hand-build your very own ceramic pumpkin, no experience required. The best part? Your ticket also comes with a pint of your favorite brew. Learn more here.
For something more contemplative, wander the Lawton Gallery on the UW–Green Bay campus. With 1,700 square feet of ever-changing exhibits, the gallery invites you to slow down, reflect, and see the world in new ways. Admission is free, and the gallery is open to the public! Learn more here.
And for a creative experience that’s a little out of this world, stop by the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere. Their Life in Space exhibit (on display through January 5, 2026) lets you “float” through the International Space Station in virtual reality, test your skills in flight simulators, and even strap into a Multi-Axis Trainer for a taste of astronaut training. It’s part science, part art, and all awe-inspiring. Get tickets and learn more here.
