There’s not much a belly laugh can’t fix — or at least make a heck of a lot better. Car broken down? Less-than-stellar performance review at work? Really bad haircut? So many problems in life can be solved by attending a comedy show with someone you love to laugh with.

Green Bay hosts live comedy shows each month at a variety of local venues, so if you’re looking for an excuse to let loose and have a good time, you’re in luck. Here are the places where you can get your funny bone tickled the next time you visit us in Green Bay!

ComedyCity Theatre

ComedyCity Theatre is *the* place to go for improv comedy. You can catch their hilarious unscripted performances every weekend in their De Pere theater. Each show is totally unique, crafted from audience suggestions that the troupe transforms into comedy gold. Their Saturday Family Show (which starts at 6:30 p.m.) is all-ages friendly, while the Friday and Saturday late shows lean more toward PG-13 and beyond. Since the improv is based on audience suggestions, anything can — and does — happen!

The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Show

If you enjoy the interactive nature of improv comedy, you will also love The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Show which takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Green Bay. The Dinner Detective is different from traditional murder mysteries because anyone in the room can end up being a part of the show! At some point during the show, a crime will occur, hidden clues will be revealed, and detectives will help everyone try to crack the case.

Meyer Theatre

The historic Meyer Theatre hosts comedy shows year-round, including big names like

Whitney Cummings, Maria Bamford, and Mark Normand. But the Meyer Theatre is also home to Let Me Be Frank Productions, a local troupe renowned for its original musical comedies that blend witty humor with very specific (and hilarious) local subcultures. We highly recommend catching a show if you can. Even if you aren’t a local or familiar with local lore, you’re going to be laughing through the entire performance, we promise!
