In Green Bay, we firmly believe in supporting your local dive bar. There’s something special about a small, unpretentious, old-style tavern with inexpensive drinks and interesting people. And we think when visiting Green Bay, that’s just the experience you want.

Is there any better way to get a sense of the community and culture than spending a few hours making new friends and enjoying cold beverages? We don’t think so!

Lenny’s Tap | 431 N Broadway

First off, we have Lenny’s Tap, one of the friendliest places in Green Bay! With its vintage decor and no-nonsense atmosphere, this tavern is the perfect place to unwind. A recent review on Google reads, “My new favorite bar when I visit Green Bay… Awesome people. Great prices. Great atmosphere. Perfect dive bar.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

St. Michael's Pub | 1539 Riverside Drive

St. Michael's Pub is a hidden gem on Riverside Drive, just across the street from the Fox River. When you walk into the old building (it was built between 1900 and 1910), you’ll be greeted by deer mounts, rustic decor, and friendly faces. A recent review on Google says, “Mike is the best bartender in the city, always a chill atmosphere and you can't beat the prices!”

Shoots Bar & Grill | 3375 Side Street

A short drive from downtown, Shoots Bar & Grill in Suamico is the epitome of a small-town bar. The walls are covered in holiday lights year-round, the drinks are super affordable, and the food is unpretentious but delicious. The staff is friendly and has “just the right amount of sass” according to a Google reviewer. What more could you ask for out of a dive bar?

Richard Craniums | 840 S Broadway

Probably best known for its eclectic vibe and quirky name, Richard Craniums is the place to go if you want to just have a good time. Whether you’re into billiards, darts, or just a friendly conversation, this bar has something for everyone. Plus, they have one of the longest happy hours we’ve ever seen! You can get $1 off everything between 11 am and 6 pm on weekdays.

Jill's Bar | 613 Bodart Street

Rounding out our list of dives is Jill’s Bar, a beloved local pub known for its welcoming vibe and great drink deals. They have karaoke every weekend, and a tiki bar out back that’s perfect for hanging out when the weather is nice. If you’re hungry, you can order one of their $2 burgers, or you can grab some tacos from Los Arcos next door and eat them in the bar.

The Sardine Can | 128 S Broadway

This place is a Green Bay staple, and while it might technically be a step up from a dive bar, it has all the down-home vibes of a dive. The Sardine Can is the perfect spot to grab a cold beer and strike up a conversation with the locals. You'll find this place absolutely PACKED after Wednesday Farmers Markets, typically hosting local (but insanely popular) bands like The Glam Band. If you want to take a nostalgic trip back in time, check out the owner’s other bar, That 70’s Bar, which is just a few doors down!
