Matcha is really having a moment (actually, it’s been having a moment for several years now) but it’s one of the oldest beverages out there. This powdered green tea dates back to as early as the 7th century in China, but it has evolved a lot since then.
Pretty much every coffee, tea, and boba shop in Green Bay has their own version of a matcha beverage, whether that’s hot or cold or blended up and topped with whipped cream. We thought we would round up some of our faves in case you have a taste for tea!
Boba Bae’s Ichigo Matcha
This sweet treat is made with premium matcha, milk, and strawberry puree. If you’re not a dairy drinker, you can substitute the milk with coconut milk which will add a slightly different flavor as well. This option is perfect for cooling down on a hot summer afternoon!
Charm Person from Coffee Wizardz
If you like your matcha with a more interesting flavor profile, you will definitely want to stop into Coffee Wizardz to try Charm Person before they retire their summer menu. This iced drink includes Top Note Tonic, house-made strawberry syrup, matcha, and basil. Yum!
Kavarna’s Iced Vanilla Matcha + Strawberry Cold Foam

Another strawberry-flavored option is this iced concoction from Kavarna. It’s made with organic matcha tea from Rishi, which is whisked to perfection, mixed with milk and house-made vanilla simple syrup. The tea is served over ice with house-made strawberry cold foam.
Fresas con Crema Matcha Latte from Meche's Churros & Cafe

Meche’s is one of the newest kids on the block and their menu already has us coming back over and over again. Yes, the churros are dreamy but so are their drinks! For a matcha treat, try the Fresas con Crema Matcha Latte. Or, if you want a strawberry-free option, you can always order their more traditional Matcha Latte, which you can get either hot or cold.
Kompound Cafe’s Matcha Lineup

Matcha lovers, get yourself over to Kompound Cafe. They are the spot with the most matcha options available and these drinks are anything but basic. Choose between their Tangerine, Coconut Matcha, Blueberry Vanilla Matcha, Lavender Honey Matcha, or their refreshing Matcha Lemonade. All of these beverages are served iced, making them perfect for summer.
Banana Bay Matcha from The Exchange
The Exchange is a cute little coffee shop in De Pere and we highly recommend stopping there for a delicious breakfast crepe. But also, their Banana Bay Matcha is a great choice for something a little bit different. This drink contains organic matcha green tea with coconut syrup, your milk of choice, and banana flavored cold foam. This one is served iced only.
Tazza’s Porter’s Patch Matcha
Tazza also has an iced matcha drink on their seasonal summer menu called the Porter’s Patch Matcha and it combines strawberry with coconut for a fun spin on the typical iced green tea latte. If these flavors aren’t calling to you, they also have a traditional matcha option that you can get hot or iced. For something super refreshing, order yours iced with sparkling water!
Pink Guava’s Matcha Tea with Oreo Crumbs
This one is a personal favorite. Choose between matcha milk tea (served creamy over ice) or matcha bubble tea (creamy and blended with ice), then add Oreo Crumbs as your topping. Don’t let the name deceive you, though. These are not tiny little crumbs; you’re going to get some good cookie chunks that will complement your drink perfectly.
Iced Raspberry Matcha from Bhava Coffee

After seeing all of the strawberry-flavored matcha options on this list, it’s clear that it’s a match-a made in heaven (groan). But raspberry also goes really well with green tea! You can also choose vanilla, blueberry, or any of their other flavor options to combine with your matcha latte but for this round-up, we’re going with the raspberry. It’s not too sweet, but soooo good.
So, have we enticed you with this matcha round-up? Which one grabbed your attention the most?
