Winter in Green Bay is full of charm and cozy vibes! Whether you're a local or just visiting, there's no reason to let the chilly weather keep you indoors all week. In fact, we strongly encourage you to get out and go on some adventures. It’s a magical time of year.
To help inspire you, we've rounded up seven unique ideas—one for each day of the week. From sipping hot cocoa to trying a new winter sport, here's how we think you should fill your week with fun and festive activities while you’re in Green Bay!
Monday: Warm Up with a Cozy Coffee Crawl
Who doesn’t love a warm cup of coffee, especially when it’s chilly outside? We recommend kickstarting your week in Green Bay with a caffeine-fueled adventure. Explore the city’s vibrant coffee scene by visiting local gems like Daily Buzz Espresso Bar or The Attic Books & Coffee. Enjoy a specialty latte, nibble on some baked goods, and let the cozy atmosphere inspire your Monday. Bonus points if you grab a book from Lion’s Mouth Bookstore to read while you sip!
Tuesday: Take a Winter Hike
Even though it’s a little colder than usual, the hiking is still beautiful. Bundle up and hit the nature trails at Baird Creek Greenway or Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. The snow-covered landscapes are breathtaking, and there’s something magical about hearing the crunch of snow underfoot. Keep an eye out for winter wildlife! If a paved trail is more your style, we recommend the Fox River State Trail or the East River Trail. The trails are also perfect for fat biking in the winter if that’s something you’re interested in trying!
Wednesday: Embrace Your Inner Artist
Break up your week by exploring your creative side. Head to Paintin’ Pottery in De Pere to paint a piece for your home or try your hand at a mosaic project or wine glass painting. There are lots of local places that offer workshops ranging from floral arrangements to fine art. Check out the Mulva Cultural Center, Ginger Birch, Roots on 9th, or The Art Garage to see what’s scheduled on their workshop events calendar while you’re in town!
Thursday: Savor Comfort Food
Nothing warms you up like a hearty meal, and Green Bay is full of options. For a stick-to-your-bones meal, we recommend Mangiare or Angelina’s for a plate of fresh pasta. Or, if pho is more your style, PhoComa on Broadway is an amazing option. Thursday night comfort food is a tradition worth starting this winter, don’t you think?
Friday: Hit Up a Hockey Game
Feel the excitement of a live hockey game by catching the Green Bay Gamblers in action. The fast-paced energy and excitement of the crowd make it a thrilling way to spend a Friday night. Plus, most of the games have a theme (or two); for example, Family Night, Teddy Bear Toss, or Bud Night. Be sure to check the schedule to see what’s happening while you’re visiting!
Saturday: Hit the Ice
If you’re feeling inspired to get out on the ice after your Friday night Gambler’s game, ice skating is the perfect weekend winter adventure. Titletown’s Hy-Vee Plaza is a popular ice skating rink, and you can rent ice skates right on-site. Howard Commons is another great place to check out. Ice skates, helmets, and elbow and knee pads are available, and Arctic Abode Igloos can be rented if you need a place to warm up.
Sunday: Relax and Recharge
By Sunday, you’re probably ready to slow down a little and recharge your batteries. Wintertime is a great time to treat yourself to a spa day; your skin is feeling extra thirsty and in need of some pampering. We recommend the Sea Lime Sigh body treatment at the Lodge Kohler Spa (perfect for extra dry skin) or the Bamboo Fusion Massage at The Day Spa in De Pere. It will relieve any sore muscles you have from ice skating the day before!
As you can see, winter in Green Bay is anything but boring. From outdoor adventures to cozy indoor retreats, there’s something fun to do every day of the week. We can’t wait to see what you do the next time you visit us. Don’t forget to take lots of photos and tag us using #LoveGB!
