If you're a basketball fan looking to spend time in Green Bay this fall, you are in luck. Both the men's and women's Green Bay Phoenix teams are just kicking off their 2024-25 seasons and catching one of their games is something we highly recommend while you’re visiting!

The Green Bay Phoenix teams compete in the Horizon League and represent the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Their home games are played at The Kress Events Center, a 4,000-seat state-of-the-art facility located on the UW-Green Bay grounds.

Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay began in 1969 with men's soccer and basketball. The Phoenix became the official team name in 1970. By 1973, women's basketball made its debut, and the men’s teams transitioned to NCAA Division II. The university moved to Division I in 1981, joining the Mid-Continent Conference (MCC) the following year. In 1987, women's programs joined Division I in the North Star Conference. By 1995, both men’s and women’s teams united in the Horizon League, where they still compete today.
