Hey there, adventure-seekers! This summer is the perfect time to visit Green Bay and enjoy a fun-filled day on the Bay. We compiled a family-friendly itinerary with thrilling rides, animal encounters, and hands-on experiences that will ignite your little ones’ imaginations.

Are you ready to head to the Bay of Green Bay? Let’s go!

Morning Thrills at Bay Beach Amusement Park

Start your day at Bay Beach Amusement Park, a local gem that has been bringing joy to families since 1892 — making it one of the oldest continuously operating amusement parks in the United States! The amusement park is a perfect blend of nostalgia and excitement with many classic (and newer) rides and a scenic location right along the bay.

One of the best things about Bay Beach Amusement Park is its affordability. Ride tickets only cost 25 cents and most rides require 2-4 tickets. The park also offers free admission and parking! You can enjoy a full day of fun without breaking the bank.

Must-Try Rides:

Zippin Pippin: Get ready for a thrill on this historic wooden roller coaster, famously known as one of Elvis Presley’s favorite rides. It’s a must for any adrenaline junkie!

The Big Ferris Wheel: Snap a selfie as you circle around to the top of the 100’ Ferris wheel. From here, you can get a great birds-eye view of the Bay and see its beauty first-hand!

Kiddie Rides: The park offers a variety of rides designed just for the little ones. Riders under 50” can enjoy the race cars, tugboats, granny bugs, ladybugs, and sky fighters!

Exploring the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

Just a stone’s throw from the amusement park is Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, a sprawling urban refuge dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of local wildlife. It’s a great place to connect with nature and learn about the importance of preserving our environment.

Everything at the wildlife sanctuary is free of charge, except for bags of corn to feed the ducks and geese. If you want to buy a bag of corn, it only costs $2 per bag and can be purchased in the Observation Building. Change is available from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

How to Spend Your Time:

Walking Trails: Hike 4.8 miles of trails through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. These scenic paths are a quiet little retreat with wildlife in their natural habitats!

Animal Encounters: Get up close and personal with local wildlife! You will have a chance to see majestic birds of prey,  flying squirrels, gray wolves, and even snakes!

Nature Center: Inside the Nature Center, you will find hands-on exhibits where kids can learn about the animals in the sanctuary and the role we play in protecting our natural world.

Let Loose at the All-Inclusive Playground

Marilyn's Oasis is a brand new all-inclusive playground located near Bay Beach Amusement Park, just west of the Zippin Pippin rollercoaster. Kids of all ages and abilities will enjoy the state-of-the-art equipment, like the ZipVenture Duo (a dual zipline), the Inclusive Orbit (a merry-go-round that’s flush with the ground), and the Brava Universal Swing.

And, since everyone loves games, be sure to challenge your kids to a round of Extreme MOVMNT. This interactive game disguises exercise as entertainment and promotes healthy competition. And if you need a little break afterward, head to the nearby Serenity Spot, a fort-like environment with a variety of calming activities.
