Green Bay’s food scene seems to be growing by the minute with new restaurants opening all the time (definitely NOT complaining). But with so many options, some places simply don’t get the love and attention they should. So we thought we’d put together a list of restaurants in Green Bay that you may not know about, either because they’re newer, they’re a bit out of the way, or they’re just more of an “if you know you know” kind of place.

Picasso Moon

This restaurant just opened in September and has already generated a lot of buzz from locals because of our devotion to Chef Andy Mueller and his former restaurant, Galley 57. Picasso Moon is cozy and perfect for date night, with seating for around 30 inside of a converted house on Webster Avenue. The menu is limited and thoughtful, and has a bistro-meets-supper-club vibe. This is definitely one to check out next time you’re here!

Rockyz

Rockyz isn’t a new restaurant; it’s just not one that gets talked about a lot and that’s a shame. The family-owned business specializes in breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and its menu features both American and Mexican items. Their Chilaquiles Breakfast Burrito with eggs, steak, beans, and red chilaquiles recently got a lot of love on the Green Bay subreddit, which reminded us that we should be telling you about it here on the blog, too!

Crepe Bistro & Cafe

Crepe Bistro and Cafe

This cute little cafe is located on Broadway and it’s a must-stop if you love crepes. They make all of their crepes fresh daily using imported French flour and organic sugar for a more authentic taste. Of course, they make everyone’s favorite Nutella crepe, but they also make savory crepes, Belgian waffles, and panini sandwiches made with fresh baked French boule bread. For a breakfast or lunch on the lighter side, this is a great option.

The Spices Restaurant & Bar Green Bay

Indian food is always a good idea, and The Spices offers that and more. This family-owned restaurant started with a dream to share the food and traditions of both Nepal and India. It might not have been on your radar as of yet since it’s located on University Avenue, a few miles outside of the Downtown District, but this spot is worth the short drive… trust us! Literally everything on the menu is fantastic and made with so much love.

SaBaiDee Cafe

Green Bay is so lucky to have a restaurant like SaBaiDee serving authentic Lao food. And with a 4.9 average rating on Google, we’re not the only ones who think so. The blue building is small and unassuming, but once you taste the rich flavors you are never going to underestimate this little cafe again. And not for nothing, one Google reviewier said that “the eggrolls looked like they were ready for a magazine photo” which honestly? Huge flex.

Pope's Pizza

Pope’s Pizza is located inside the Great North Commons, a newer addition to the Stadium District. With so many home games under our belt this season, plenty of people have already tried their pizza. But we’ve also heard many folks say they haven’t had a chance to stop in yet, which we think is a real shame! If you haven’t tried one of the Sicilian-style pizzas (like the Midnight in Mo-Town), you’re going to want to put this place on your list.

Lil Jamaica Bar and Grill

Lil Jamaica is another spot that lots of locals know about but visitors might not be as familiar with. Their food truck is very popular and you’ll see them at markets and events, but stopping into their bar and grill on Broadway is a whole different experience. It’s not a big place but in the summer, the outdoor seating area gets vibrant and lively! And of course, the food is always incredible. It’s a great place to go if you want to pretend you’re in the Caribbean!

Grounded Cafe

Grounded Cafe is the true definition of a hidden gem. It’s located inside of the Aging and Disability Resource Center and what it might lack in curb appeal it more than makes up for in heart. The cafe was built on the belief that all people have value and they shine a light on the strengths and abilities of seniors and people with disabilities. On top of that, the food is really, really good. They use lots of local ingredients and everything is made fresh.

Pasquale’s International Cafe

We don’t really know why this place doesn’t get more buzz because it is literally so good. This place has been a staple in De Pere for around 35 years, serving Chicago favorites like Italian Beef, breaded ravioli, and of course, Chicago-style hot dogs. It’s casual, full of cool vintage decor, and staffed by the friendliest faces you’ll meet. Have we convinced you that you need to stop in and check it out the next time you’re here? We hope so!

Green Bay is beyond rich when it comes to restaurants and we hope we’ve given you a few ideas to shake things up when you come back for a visit. And as always, if you need more recommendations, you know where to find us!
