This family-focused itinerary is designed to help keep your kids entertained — and your sanity intact — until summer break arrives in about 10 weeks. So let’s dive into the list, shall we?
#1 - Go on a Dino Safari
Walk through time at the Dino Safari exhibit happening through May 12 at the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere. This immersive expedition features lifelike, moving dinosaurs from around the globe. Get to know these fascinating creatures up close, from the powerful T-Rex to the enormous Spinosaurus. Dive into the latest research, encounter a variety of prehistoric pals, and get transported back to the age of dinosaurs. Free for kids 5 and under!
#2 - Cheer on the Green Bay Gamblers
Spend your Saturday cheering on the Green Bay Gamblers as they take on the Madison Capitols on April 13th. This is their last regular season home game and they’re pulling out all the stops to make it memorable! It’s Family Night, which means discounted youth tickets and $2 hot dogs and sodas. Plus, there's a post-game Skate With so you can get on the ice, collect autographs, and snap photos with your favorite players. It’s also First Responders Night, which means first responders can receive discounted tickets. Call (920) 405-1153 for more info!
#3 - Celebrate Earth Day at the Wildlife Sanctuary
Sunday, April 21 is Earth Day and the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary has planned a day full of family-friendly activities to celebrate! Plant seeds for a monarch butterfly garden, make a fun wildlife craft for your yard, and watch a live wolf feeding. Meet several animal ambassadors throughout the day such as snakes, owls, turtles, woodchucks, hawks, and more. This free event runs from 12 pm to 4 pm and is suitable for all ages!
#4 - Skate it Out
Do you have little skaters in your family? Green Bay Action Sports Organization (GBASO) is an indoor action sports complex for skateboarding, scootering, BMX, and in-line skating, and it’s great for all ages! Your kids will love spending hours perfecting their skills on the ramps and halfpipes. You can get a day pass or a punch card to use the facility all day long. They even have a special time slot just for beginners to ensure a safe space for newbies to learn. You can find out more about GBASO, including hours and pricing, on their website!
#5 - Bay Beach Amusement Park
By now we’re into May which means one thing… Bay Beach Amusement Park opens back up for the season! The rides are only open on weekends until later in the month, but that's perfect for a school schedule-friendly trip to Green Bay. As always, ride tickets are only a quarter, and there is a large selection of rides for kids of all ages. Also, if your family didn’t get a chance to try the new Nebulaz ride at the end of last season, this is your chance!
#6 - Social Gaming?
If you struggle to get your kids off their screens, might we suggest… more screens? Hear us out. Edge Gamers Lounge is a place where kids can socialize and make new friends WHILE playing their favorite video games. The lounge has 20 PC and 14 Xbox stations, a cafe with great food and drink options, and a welcoming atmosphere to hang out with your friends or make new ones. #9 - Run for Donuts
If you have little ones who love to run (or you’re just trying to find ways to get them outside), check out the 3rd Annual Donut 5k, presented by the Salvation Army Kroc Center in partnership with Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe. The race is happening June 1 and kicks off at Green Isle Park in Allouez. If your kids aren’t quite ready for a 5k, register them for the Sprinkle Sprint, a smaller race designed specifically for kids 12 and under. No matter which race they run, there will be a delicious donut waiting for them at the finish line. Yum!
#10 - PAW Patrol Paw-Palooza
This year’s PAW Patrol Paw-Palooza is happening at the National Railroad Museum June 7-9, which is perfect timing to celebrate the end of the school year.
