Arts & Culture

Green Bay is full of art and culture.

PERFORMING ARTS
Downtown Green Bay's Meyer Theatre is an exceptional performance hall featuring ornate design of a turn-of-the-century, lavishly-equipped, vaudeville house and movie palace. Originally a Fox Theatre, the 1,000-seat venue presents professional live performances, including musicals, concerts, family theatre and unique touring shows. The Meyer is home to the Let Me Be Frank Productions performing troupe. This group entertains with locally-produced musical variety shows perfect for a couple's night out.

For outdoor music fun, relax and enjoy one of the popular lunchtime Summer in the Park concerts at Whitney Park or Leight at Nite, Thursday evenings at Leight Memorial Park. Green Bay's CityDeck has family-friendly entertainment every Friday, late June through August. Enjoy music, outdoor movies, dancing and even juggling, depending on the night.

The 2,000-seat Weidner Center for the Performing Arts presents an astounding array of performances from Broadway to chamber orchestras to pop acts and comedies.

Greater Green Bay's largest entertainment venue is the 10,000-seat Resch Center. The Resch hosts 600,000 people every year, having record crowds for musical performers like Neil Diamond, Rascall Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Bon Jovi.

VISUAL ARTS
Have an eye for great art? Don't miss one of our most treasured gems. The ARTgarage is a gallery where local artists can display and sell their creations. Hanging wall art, pottery, jewelry and textiles fill the gallery. To visit with artists at work inside their own studio, be sure to take the trolley tour during a Gallery Nite which happens four times a year.

In March, the Green Bay Film Festival delights viewers with several categories including short film, documentary, Native American and feature film categories. Wisconsin-made films have also been a hit and meeting the film makers is a special experience.

In August, nearly 200 artists from across the country visit Green Bay for the city's annual Artstreet Festival. This is a great place to find new art pieces for yourself and gifts for your friends.
