The Easter Story is a contemporary art exhibition based upon the Stations of the Cross.

The exhibition takes you through the last hours of Jesus’s life as recorded in the Bible. 14 local artists created works of art based upon the written scripture and what it means to them. There are traditional and non-traditional interpretations, and a variety of mediums including photography, mixed media, painting, and 3D displays.

There are traditional and non-traditional interpretations, and a variety of mediums including photography, mixed media, painting, and 3D displays. An opening reception will be held at the ARTgarage on Friday, March 9 from 6 pm to 9 pm where the public can view the exhibition, meet the artists and hear music from Spring Lake Church. The exhibition will also be on display during the month of March from the 6th - 31st. Normal viewing hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 am to 5 pm; Thursdays from 11 am to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be extended viewing hours till 8 pm during the week leading up to Easter on March 27 - 30. Featured artists include: Kevin Smith, Cyndee Sweetland, Daniel Klewer, Mary Breuer Photo's, Luke Hochrein, Christa Cape, Kathy Doubek, Steve Doubek, CrewlArt by Gregory Frederic, Amy Frederic, Brekken Cogswell, Koltz Photography, Jake Barnes and Jaime Frisque. The exhibition is sponsored by Spring Lake Church Downtown and admission is free but donations are accepted.
