During Art Walk visitors will be the opportunity to view five outdoor murals decorating downtown and a mural in progress. Definitely De Pere is hosting two artists from Amal Sweden, De Pere’s sister city. They will be painting a design on the side of the building located at 115 N Wisconsin Street. The title of the mural is Interlaced and it focuses on water, a natural link that both cities have. The background for the wall will simulate life, and residents of De Pere are invited to help create the piece. On top of the background, there will be a twisted braid symbolizing the strength of a community and the collaboration of the two cities.
The Sculpture Walk is a new program for downtown De Pere and features an ongoing seasonal public art exhibit of original outdoor sculptures. Recently 10 sculptures were installed along the 100 block of North Broadway, 400 block of George Street, 100 block of North Wisconsin and the 400 block of James Street.
