Empowering the girl or women in your life is so important! Join Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes for our next fundraising event in Green Bay, as we encourage you to explore to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) through a fun and interactive event! Our guest speaker, Diane Doersch, Chief of Technology & Information Officer for the Green Bay area public schools will be sharing about her winding journey and childhood interests that led to her technology leadership. As a mother of four daughters, find out how this parent inspires her children, her department members, and community to make a STEM difference in the world.

America’s STEM workforce is crucial for generating new ideas and providing the flexibility and critical thinking required in the modern economy. Although women continue to make gains across the broader economy, they remain underrepresented in STEM jobs. Data from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) reveals that only 24% of the STEM workforce is comprised of women, with little improvement in the past 8 years. Today’s competitive job market can be difficult, especially for women who are trying to break into traditionally male-dominated career fields such as finance, engineering and technology. Through dialogue at Courage, Confidence and Character, we will talk about how Girl Scouts is tackling the issue, and inspire you to overcome challenges, solve problems, and advance in your field. Join us for a fun Tuesday night out—the event is open to everyone—all ages, genders and non-Girl Scouts! Engage with local educators, STEM leaders and community members during this fun, interactive event.
