Green Bay Botanical Garden
The 47-acres of display gardens and natural areas capture the beauty of northeast Wisconsin’s four distinct and wonderful seasons. This property sits right next to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in western Green Bay and is also known as “the old Larsen orchard”. While the plants are the main focal point, the beauty in the architecture around the Garden should also be noticed.
For example, The Les & Dar Stumpf Hobbit House is a three-season facility designed to be whimsical yet practical housing restrooms. It looks like something you would see in Lord of the Rings as it is built into a hillside which minimizes heating and cooling requirements and is equipped with state of the art solar light tubes and water efficient facilities. Resource efficiency and preservation is very important at the Green Bay Botanical Garden and is prevalent throughout the grounds.
A horticultural and recreational resource to the area, Green Bay Botanical Garden offers a variety of educational programs to the community from photography to cooking to hiking. The Garden also hosts some popular events like the Garden Fair and WPS Garden of Lights featuring a walking trail through displays made up of 250,000 lights during the Holiday season. You’ll also find this is a premier venue for hosting a beautiful wedding with both indoor and outdoor special event space.
Stay tuned as there are many long term plans to continue developing the Garden.
