Cellcom Green Bay Marathon
The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is an annual marathon that takes place in the streets of Green Bay, starting and ending at the famous Lambeau Field. Approximately 8,000 runners from all over the globe compete in this world-class event each year. If you’re not quite ready for 26.2 miles, there are other events to choose from. There is a half marathon, a marathon relay and a 5K run. Little runners can compete in the WPS Kids’ Power Run, where they get to run down the player’s tunnel inside Lambeau Field and take a lap around the field!
The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon’s “Run for a Reason” program is easy to participate in and it makes fundraising simple. After creating a personal fundraising page complete with personal statement and photo, you are able to email your page to friends, family, training partners, and co-workers. Raise $300 or more to get one free entry to any event (other than the relay) and support the chosen charity partners.
The marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier, which means the event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and the course is certified. The race typically takes place the third weekend in May, and the average temperature in Green Bay that time of year ranges from a low of 45 degrees Fahrenheit to a high of 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Do you need lodging for the event? There is a block of hotel rooms available through the Greater Green Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau’s online booking system. The race fills up quickly, so make sure you register early!
