April 10, 2006
Green Bay, WI – Youth sports will take center stage the first weekend of May with the inaugural Packer Country Sports Festival. The event will feature tournament competition in basketball, flag football and volleyball at three different area locations.
“The Packer Country Sports Festival has been in the planning stages for more than a year and we’re excited about the prospects for this first time event,” said Joel Everts, Sports Sales Manager for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “The Packer Country Sports Festival is part of an effort to create more ‘home grown’ events in the Green Bay area. It’s a great way to increase opportunities for our young athletes and show off some of Packer Country’s tremendous sports venues.”
The Packer Country Sports Festival will take place May 6-7, 2006 and includes:
- Basketball at Bay Port High School. The tournament will be coordinated by American Youth Basketball Tour (Web site: www.aybtour.com) and is open to youngsters in grades 4-11. The entry fee is $250 per team.
